The town of Seward is located on Resurrection Bay is located near Kenai-Fjords National Park. To say that the views here are superb would be an understatement. The Seward Highway

Once you hop on the highway from Anchorage you’ll get to drive into where mountains, ocean, and ice all meet up. You can take in the shoreline simply by stopping along the roadside. You can take in day hikes and glacier views as well. Some of the best Salmon fishing in the world sits between Anchorage and Seward along the highway.

This trip can easily be extended into a multi-day trip. Along the way keep your eyes peeled for wild animals like whales breaching in the oceanside, or the Dall Sheep on the mountain sides. Mchugh Creek is a great place to stop along the way here to stretch your legs and get some catch some great vistas.

Seward Happenings

Once you arrive in Seward the options to explore and take in the scenery might feel endless. From day hikes to whale watching tours, there is a lot to do. Stroll the waterfront park and downtown area to get idea of what this rainy community is like. After exploring the fishing and boating charms you can hop on a tour of your choice. There are even day trips into Kenai Fjords National Park by boat.

Whale watching is a fan favorite, but if you don’t want to leave the shore you can always check out their sea life center. Day hiking opportunities are bountiful here. Exit Glacier is a nearby glacier that is one of the more popular glaciers to check out up close and personal. And it is worth a look to see if your in town for one of their many famous festivals.
